Welcome to the CALM Program (Canine Aggression Learning & Management). This advanced behavior modification program has been designed to address and rehabilitate a wide range of canine aggression issues, from territorial and fear-based aggression to leash reactivity and others.

The CALM Program uses a therapeutic approach that combines understanding the root causes of your dog's behavior with managing environmental and situational triggers. The program is geared toward gradually rehabilitating dogs, desensitizing them to their triggers while building their confidence and trust.

In this program, we have three objectives:

  1. Develop a high level of response proficiency to commands, which establishes a clear line of communication between you and your dog. This is accomplished by teaching fundamental skills (name, sit, down, come and stay) along with higher-level skills like leave it, controlled leash walking, and place.

  2. Reduce underlying stress and anxiety, which aggravates reactivity and aggression. This is done by way of our CARE for Canine Anxiety program, which is included in the CALM Program. CARE is an advanced behavior modification technique designed to reduce stress by encouraging natural relaxation behaviors, building your dog’s confidence, improving judgment as well as their ability to read social cues.

  3. Modify your dog’s perception of environmental threats, teaching them to take cues from you instead about their level of safety. Because aggression is a response to feeling threatened, we use behavior modification to desensitize them to their triggers, restoring their ability to control themselves.

By participating in the CALM Program, you'll gain valuable insights and practical skills to effectively manage, reduce, and rehabilitate your dog's aggression, building a better quality of life for you and your dog.
